CALGARY ADHD ASSESSMENT

Focused On Everyday Success

A comprehensive evaluation of how attention, executive functioning, self-regulation, working memory, and processing speed impact daily life, learning, and relationships.

Raise your hand if…

Your child can spend hours building an intricate Lego creation, but getting through dinner without leaving the table to check their Pokemon cards is another story.

They remember a promise you made five Tuesdays ago, but somehow forget why they went upstairs or where their backpack is every morning.

Your teen is capable, responsible, and often the one others turn to. But due dates disappear, completed assignments stay on the kitchen counter, and getting started can feel nearly impossible until the pressure is on.

Maybe they spend hours studying for a test, know the material at home, and then sit down in the exam room and suddenly can't seem to access what they know.

Good news…there’s an assessment for that.

ADHD Assessment

The “Getting Stuff Done” skills

A comprehensive evaluation of executive functions, designed to identify strengths, explain difficulties, and determine which supports may help.

Everything you've been wondering about your child's attention, plus everything else you didn't know you needed to know, with action steps you can implement right away.

Difficulties with attention, academics, or behaviour may explain part of your child's experience, but they never define their potential. When learning is also a concern, a Psychoeducational Assessment can explore academic skills alongside attention and executive functioning.

Why Does Everyday Life Feel So Hard?

You expected forgotten lunch kits, messy bedrooms, and the occasional eye roll. You didn’t expect quite so much of family life to revolve around reminders, negotiations, unfinished tasks, emotional moments, and trying to get out the door on time.

Most of all, you didn’t expect to spend so much time wondering why everyday life seems to require so much more effort for your child and for you.

Can You Relate?

See the Child Behind the Struggle.

You already know there’s so much more to your child than the challenges that are loudest right now. They’re funny, creative, kind, determined, imaginative, sensitive, curious or some wonderful combination entirely their own.

An ADHD Assessment can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, recognize the strengths that are already there, and identify practical ways to make everyday life work better.

Looking Beyond Attention

ADHD Assessments are conducted in-person with a Registered Psychologist who is specially trained in standardized testing and interpretation.

This assessment is a multi-faceted process that involves interviews, developmental history review, and formal testing. Together, this information helps identify how attention and executive functioning affect your child's experiences at home, school, and beyond, while highlighting strengths and areas where additional support may help.

Following the assessment, you'll receive a detailed written report with individualized recommendations for home, school, and everyday life.

EVERY ASSESSMENT BEGINS WITH A QUESTION

What Are You Noticing?

Distractibility

Frequent interruptions in attention or focus during structured tasks.

Difficulty Sustaining Focus

Trouble concentrating on instructions or steps during school, home, or extracurriculars.

Impulsivity

Acting quickly without considering consequences or timing.

Academic Underperformance

Grades not reflecting effort or ability (which then affects confidence and self-esteem).

Organizational Challenges

Difficulty keeping track of belongings, schedules, or responsibilities.

Task Completion Difficulties

Starting projects but struggling to finish consistently or independently.

Executive Functioning Difficulties

Planning, time-management, prioritizing, initiation, memory.

Performance Concerns

Difficulty during tests, forgetfulness, rushing, overlooking details.

Emotional Challenges

Frustration, sensitivity, or overwhelm, linked to attention or impulse control difficulties.

FROM RESULTS TO REAL LIFE

Your Assessment,
Explained

An ADHD Assessment is only valuable if you understand the results.

Once your assessment is complete, I’ll meet with you for a feedback session to review the results together, discuss recommendations, and answer any remaining questions.

You’ll then receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report that goes beyond simply presenting scores. It explains how your child’s attention and executive functioning skills impact daily life, highlights their strengths, clarifies the nature of their challenges, and provides individualized recommendations for home, school, and future planning.

WHEN QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YEARS

You Don’t Need to Be Certain Before Seeking Answers

Some families have wondered about ADHD for years. Structure, routines, movement, or support at home may have helped, but questions remain, especially as school demands increase or a teenager begins asking for answers themselves.

An assessment can help clarify whether ADHD is part of the picture, what else may be contributing, and which supports may be useful. Seeking an assessment does not commit your family to medication or any particular treatment path.
